Cloisonne Technique

This very exciting technique uses the Spanish Oils which are applied to the pattern area and then shaded with darker Spanish Oil colors. Once fired it is glazed in the pattern area only and finally in a third firing it is trimmed in 22 carat gold and fired a third time. Patterns and technique kits are available online. The photos above show the Iris pattern on the left and the pattern applied to an Oriental Ginger Jar on the right.
